How did That Clover Leaf get on the Clothesline?

by in Housework, Nature stuff, Photography

I went to retrieve our swimwear from the line yesterday, and I noticed something odd near the waistband of mah mommy swim skirt:

How did that little leaf get way up there?

We haven’t mowed in weeks. I couldn’t imagine how that leaf got all the way up there. Until I took a closer look:

Extreme close-up of extremely cool leaf bug. I’m pretty sure that’s not its scientific name.

How cool is that little guy? Professor Google says he’s a Flatid Leaf Bug. In Madagascar, they’re a beautiful shade of red. But this one was a very cool shade of my favorite color–green.

I’ll bet he hangs out on three-leaf clovers all day tricking people into thinking they’ve found a four-leaf clover. Cheeky little bug.

Found any fun summer surprises of your own lately?

Seems like an odd place for him to hang out, though. Maybe he thought he was a chameleon and would blend…

He sure fooled me until I got up close–he kinda has those chameleon eyes, too.
